SACRAMENTO – Earlier today, Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino) recognized Riverside Grill in Chino as the 2015 20th State Senate District “Small Business of the Year”.
First opening in 1997, Riverside Grill has remained a popular family-run Inland Empire eatery for almost two decades.  Founded by brothers Rodrigo and Al Avila—as well as a third brother that is no longer affiliated with the restaurant—Riverside Grill started as a counter service restaurant though was renovated to sit 80 people with a full service bar known for its extensive local craft beer selections.

Senate Approves "Safe Drinking Water in Schools Act"

SACRAMENTO – Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino) announces that the California State Senate today approved critical legislation which will require the testing of drinking water at schools to ensure water quality and safety.  Moreover, SB 334 requires that—when water provided at school is not clean—school districts must provide alternative sources of clean water.

Senate Approves Leyva Victim Restitution Bill

SACRAMENTO – Earlier today, the California State Senate unanimously passed legislation that will ensure that all victims of crimes committed by minors are eligible to receive due compensation.
Authored by Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino) and jointly cosponsored by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and Crime Victims Action Alliance, SB 651 would expand the statutory definition of a ‘victim’ so that derivative victims—such as spouses, family members and housemates—will be eligible for compensation as a result of a crime committed against them by a minor.
